Bringing the Outside In

Natural elements into commercial interior designs is full on in 2024 and is set to continue in 2025. This is being achieved by using clear, nature-inspired themes like forest and coastal, which help create a calming atmosphere, enhance brand identity, or reflect the local environment.

In addition designers and companies are incorporating nature, using sustainable, natural materials such as wood, stone, cork, or rattan in the construction, finishes, furniture, and lighting fixtures. Adding unique character to the workspace whilst being eco-friendly.

Features like green walls, wood walls and water features, are becoming a focal point in main welcoming areas such as lobbies and reception areas. Improving not just the look of the space, but employee well-being also.

Textural and Tactile Elements

As flexible work-from-home arrangements and more open workspaces are set to be the future of the workplace environment; interior design outlooks have changed dramatically in the last 5 years. With today's commercial spaces creating a more adaptable work environment for all employees' needs with more natural element finishes.

Rich textures are now on trend, adding warmth and visual interest. Using varied finishes allows the end user to have more unique areas within the workspace making it more intimate or relaxed. With an ever-evolving role, lighting now more than ever, plays a crucial role in spotlighting texture/materials, while helping to define individual areas within larger spaces by adding brighter and dimmer areas, in turn enhancing visual appeal.

Maximalism – the way to go

Maximalist design embraces a combination of textures, elements and bold use of colours. Taking inspiration from past historical trends, creating an inviting ‘lived-in’ look. Shaping the future of commercial spaces.

Branding as an Experience

While signage, logos and company colours remain essential, more subtle and creative methods are emerging to tell a company’s story.

Human-centered lighting design is now key to any commercial space. We see more bold designs being embraced in fixtures like pendants and lamps, along with a mixture of metals and options like coloured lighting, spotlights, and uplighting.

With more and more immersive environments being created by designers to captivate employees and visitors from the moment they step inside, lighting plays a key role more than ever.
